Big Octo are bigger variations of standard [[Octorok|Octoroks]] from 3D [[The Legend of Zelda (Series)|Zelda]] titles. They have been in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time|Ocarina of Time]]'' as a miniboss, ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask|Majora's Mask]]'' and ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker|The Wind Waker]]''.

There is only one BigOcto found in [[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time|Ocarina of Time]], and it serves as the miniboss of [[Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly]]. It is fought in a very small, round room with a spinning spiked platform in the center. In order to defeat him, you need to stun him with the [[Boomerang]], and then hit him in the round blob on his back with your sword. If he is facing towards you, then you'll need to wait for the stun to wear off and he starts spinning, and then stun him again, hoping his back is to you. A good four hits with the [[Kokiri Sword]] should do him in.

Big Octos in [[The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask|Majora's Mask]] are only found in the [[Southern Swamp]] while it is poisoned. If [[Link]] gets too close to one, it'll suck him in, and spit him out again, dealing alot of damage. They can only be killed with something pointy such as the boat tour boat, or the Bow.

Big Octos in [[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker|The Wind Waker]] have a much different visual appearance than that of previous [[The Legend of Zelda (Series)|Zelda]] titles, and are only found in specific spots around the [[Great Sea]]. If you see a flock of seagulls flying around one spot over the water, there is a Big Octo there. Approaching one will get you stuck in a whirlpool, and the Big Octo will rise out of the sea. <br />

Big Octos have a number of eyes, ranging from 4, 8, and 12. The only items that work against them are [[Bombs]] the Bow, and the [[Boomerang]]. The Boomerang takes 2 hits per eye, whereas the bombs and arrows only take one. Failure in destroying all of the eyes fast enough will result in Link getting sucked into the creature, and spat out to some random island of the [[Great Sea]]. Killing the 4-eyed one will make a [[Great Fairy]] appear, who gives Link a Magic Meter enhancement. Killing an 8-eyed one will create a light ring with a chest containing an Orange [[Rupee]], while defeating a 12-eyed one will grant you a [[Piece of Heart]].
