Hang ten, Small Fry! The Wind Waker’s soundtrack is a perfect accompaniment to Link’s seafaring adventure. The game’s music features boisterous sea shanties and Spanish guitar-inspired melodies, with a wide array of adventure, introspection, and melancholy in between. More than simply serving its purpose of providing ambiance against which the game is set, the music itself is an intrinsic part of The Wind Waker‘s experience. One sea-centric genre the game’s musical score doesn’t explore is surf rock. Luckily for us,…

Having just replayed Breath of the Wild, I have to say that the Champions’ abilities are generally much better than those of Tears of the Kingdom’s Sages. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Tulin’s Gust ability, and his skill with a bow and arrow. However, would I choose that over Revali’s Gale? I missed being able to do a turbo-charged jump to get to high places. I know when I was in the Muctorok fight, I gave up trying to…

LEGO has dashed the hopes of Zelda fans multiple times. A Breath of the Wild set from its community-based voting platform, LEGO Ideas, made it to the review stage but unfortunately, it never became a reality. In fact, LEGO stopped accepting Zelda submissions in 2022 because of licensing conflicts.  Because LEGO has yet to address the supposedly leaked Deku Tree set, fans have resorted to drafting MOCs (My Own Creations) of their dream Zelda sets. Content creator and LEGO fan…

We here at Zelda Dungeon have been excitedly awaiting The Stable Trotters: a Zelda Tribute Album by composer Giovanni Rotondo for a while now! Rotondo, composer of the 8-bit Time Adventures collection of fan albums, was inspired by Tears of the Kingdom‘s traveling bard group the “Stable Trotters,” with the album envisioned as something the Stable Trotters themselves would sell at the end of their shows in the universe of the game. Throughout production, Rotondo has asked for Zelda fans’…

Therapy is fantastic. In fact, as someone who has done a lot of inner work with a therapist, I am a huge advocate for therapy! I have also been playing through Breath of the Wild again recently and it’s had me thinking: Link and Zelda have been through so much trauma in so many lifetimes. Honestly, they are such resilient characters. Every incarnation has to face unimaginable difficult challenges and circumstances. In Ocarina of Time, Link loses seven years of…

Nintendo recently released their year-end financial earnings report for FY2024. This report outlined last year’s sales figures and established sales forecasts for the current fiscal year, among other things. One thing that may surprise fans however is their hardware sales goals. Nintendo projects that they will sell 13.5 million Switch consoles within the next year; roughly two million units less than their actual sales figures for last year (15.7 million units across all Switch models). This may seem more than…

The Zelda Dungeon YouTube team is back with another exciting episode of Tiers of the Kingdom! In honor of Tears of the Kingdom‘s first anniversary, Gooey, McKenna, Corey, and Nico are ranking the game’s key boss battles. For this video, the crew is ranking what might be considered the “set piece” bosses. These are the bosses that are connected to the main story and the key side adventures. For example, the temple bosses are included in this list, but overworld…

As we discussed this past weekend, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes just recently hit theaters. For many, fairly or unfairly, the film represents more than just another installment in a storied film series. With franchise newcomer Wes Ball at the helm, the movie is already in the daunting position of following after one of the most beloved film trilogies of all time. Add on top of that the news that Ball is set to direct the live-action Legend…
