Ra

Ra also known as Dragon Head, is an enemy that appears in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Their official English name was never released.

The Adventure of Link

Ras are animated dragon-head statues that decorate the walls of most palaces in The Adventure of Link except Parapa Palace. Ras fly through the air in a wave-like patterns. Sometime, they tend to appear continuously in certain passageways in large numbers and the battle will be difficult.

Ras steal experience points from Link if they come in contact with him. Downward Thrusts or Upward Thrusts are the best ways to take care of these flying pests. They also will destroyed after being slashed with sword enough times. There are two variations of Ra in this game.

Blue Ra

Blue Ras are found throughout most palaces of the game except Parapa Palace and Great Palace. These Ra is weaker than the Orange Ra. Link gains 20 experience points for defeating the Blue Ra.

Orange Ra

Orange Ras are found only in the Great Palace. They are quite a bit stronger than the Blue Ras. They also have a faster speed and a unexpected movement pattern. Link also gains 20 experience points for defeating the Orange Ra.
