All enemy and boss attacks do one heart of damage

"Damage taken is always one Heart"

— In-Game Description[1]

The Protection Ring is a Magical Ring that Link can obtain in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. It can only be acquired by bumping into Maple or within a Gasha Nut.

When equipped, the Protection Ring will cause all enemy and boss attacks to do one heart of damage if they hit Link. This has a positive effect when worn against very powerful bosses that usually do more than a full heart of damage. However, it has an inverse effect when dealing with weaker enemies, as basic attacks will also do one heart of damage.

It is not recommended that the Protection Ring be worn, as there are better defensive alternatives. In particular the Armor Ring L-1 or the very powerful Blue Ring makes more sense to use.
