The Legend of Zelda

Gels are a common enemy in The Legend of Zelda, though they are only seen after attacking a Zol. When a Zol is attacked with the Wooden Sword, two Gels appear. They are one of the few enemies that can be killed with the Boomerang, the other being Keese.

A Link to the Past

In A Link to the Past, Gel appear in two dungeon: The Ice Palace and Misery Mire. They pop out of the ground when Link approaches them. They are easily defeated using the Hookshot

Skyward Sword

Gels are jelly-like creatures that move slowly amongst the overworld. They greatly resemble Zols, except they are significantly smaller. When Link defeats a Zol it will split apart into two smaller Gel. Furthermore, if smaller Gel are left alone, they will merge together to form a larger Zol.

If Gel get close to Link they'll jump up and stick onto Link's leg, causing him to move much slower. Fortunately, the gels do not cause any damage to Link, but will only slow him down. One simple sword slash will defeat these slimy creatures.
