The Flare Dancer is the mini-boss of the Fire Temple in Ocarina of Time.
This mini-boss spins around the room swinging the long blades protruding from its body. It is defeated using the Hookshot, the Megaton Hammer, or the Bombs. Once the core is exposed, it will attempt to avoid Link by running around the room. Once blocked, it will skid to a halt and run in the other direction. It is defeated most easily by pulling the core to Link with the Hookshot and then attacking with the sword. After attacking, the flames around the core will turn yellow/orange to purple/blue and then to shades of green.
