She explains that it is usually only for Gerudo warriors, but that as Link had "proven [him]self in battle", she would make an exception for him. To succeed and win the [[Gerudo Fabric]], he needs to pass through all seven arches - set up in a straight line north-east from the starting point - in 2:30 or less, while there is a hard cut-off at 3:30. If he takes between 2:30 and 3:30, she will give him a radiant shield or 5 arrows (if shield inventory is full).  If he makes it in less than 2:30, he'll win "some traditional Gerudo cloth" - the [[Gerudo Fabric]], which can be used to rework his [[paraglider]] with the new design.

The Desert Race is a mini-game from Tears of the Kingdom. It is available after completing Riju of Gerudo Town.

Tears of the Kingdom

After Link and Riju defeat Queen Gibdo in the Lightning Temple and dispel the Sand Shroud, Teake mentions to Link that the training area near the Southern Oasis has been reopened, and that he should "drop by".

When Link travels there, Sudrey introduces the Desert Race. She explains that it is usually only for Gerudo warriors, but that as Link had "proven [him]self in battle", she would make an exception for him. To succeed and win the Gerudo Fabric, he needs to pass through all seven arches - set up in a straight line north-east from the starting point - in 2:30 or less, while there is a hard cut-off at 3:30. She also tells him that he "shouldn't hesitate to use whatever advantages [he] can think of." This means that Sand Boots, Sand Seal surfing and even Zonai Vehicles are allowed, he just can't "stray too far off-course" or skip arches.

If he takes between 2:30 and 3:30, she will give him a Radiant Shield or 5 arrows (if shield inventory is full). If he makes it in less than 2:30, he'll win "some traditional Gerudo cloth" - the Gerudo Fabric, which can be used to rework his paraglider with the new design.
