Locations
Hot-Footed Frogs can typically be found in shallow bodies of water around Hyrule such as around Lanayru Great Spring or Hyrule Ridge. They are very commonly found in the shallow water at the Irch Plain, found just northwest of Hyrule Castle.

These frogs are quite plentiful at the grasses surrounding the southern half of Lake Totori from the Rito Stable to Warbler's Nest and can be quickly found alongside Tabantha Wheat by mowing said grass during the day. At times, as many as 3 frogs can be found when mowing the grass.

There is an abundance of these frogs in the grasses of Rowan Plain where the Lynel patrols. As many as 15-20 frogs can be found while mowing.  Approximately 10 can be found in the Korok Forest and the paths out to The Korok Trials.

Cooking
Hot-Footed Frogs can be cooked alongside monster parts to create Elixirs. The Hot-Footed Frog will give Link a Speed enhancement. When cooked with a monster part that has no specific enhancement, such as a Bokoblin Horn, Link will create a Hasty Elixir. This will temporarily boost Links movement speed. If Link cooks the Hot-Footed Frog along with food, it will result in Link making Dubious Food.

The Level 3 upgrades of the Climber's Bandanna, Climbing Gear, and Climbing Boots each require ten Hot-Footed Frogs, along with five Ice Keese Wings.
