Epona makes an appearance in Breath of the Wild, however an amiibo is required to cause this to occur. After making it off the Great Plateau, and preferably while you are close to a stables, use the Link amiibo (Smash Bros Twilight Princess version) and Epona will appear. | |||
Note this is a one-time use, even if the amiibo is used again or Epona dies, she can never be summoned into the game again. Subsequent uses of the amiibo will summon treasure chests and other loot instead. Therefore it is recommended to register her immediately so that she can be kept permanently. | |||
Epona is a regular size horse with maximum stats and comes fully trained. | |||
There is a fountain that allows the resurrection of horses that have died. It is currently unknown if Epona can be resurrected at this fountain, should she die. | |||
