We were all blown away when The Wall Street Journal published a rumor that there was a Netflix series in development centered around the Zelda franchise. It wasn’t long after when Iwata went on record as saying those rumors were not based on correct information.

While his statement has been interpreted different ways, there is no denying the untrue rumors…

It doesn’t feel like all too long ago that The Wall Street Journal reported Nintendo partnering with Netflix to produce a live-action Zelda series. Amongst a whirlwind of speculations, Satoru Iwata finally commented on the proposed series by stating that “the article in question is not based on correct information.” While not a complete confirmation that the series isn’t in production, the statement means that whatever comes of this supposed deal won’t be what was initially expected. Whatever the outcome, we want to know how you will feel if the series never sees the light of day…

While the Netflix Zelda TV series may not be a real thing (we honestly just don’t know, Nintendo likes to talk circles around things), that doesn’t mean a trailer couldn’t possible exist right? Right. Okay, so this is a totally fake trailer, but it’s pretty funny and comes from the fine folks over at Smosh. They are known for their parody videos and they have covered Zelda before in some other hilarious forms. This time they take on the Netflix rumor and run it with a trailer long joke of incest. I know, that sounds terrible, but it…

We all know that unfortunately a Zelda Netflix series is not likely to be produced anytime soon, but that didn’t keep the people behind YouTube’s Smosh from creating a hilarious hypothetical trailer for the formerly teased Game of Thrones style show. Not only does the comical video poke fun at some of Zelda’s quirkiest features (i.e. raging Cuccos, random fishing, compulsive pot-smashing), but it also integrates some of the more awkward aspects of Game of Thrones into this Zelda world….

Satoru Iwata has finally commented on the Netflix Zelda TV Series rumors. While he has nothing to announce at this time, suggesting they are indeed planning some sort of TV Show for something at Nintendo, he did want to point out that the initial news about the Zelda Netflix TV Show was based on incorrect information. However, the way it is stated suggests that the TV Show may very much be a reality, just not in the way described. It is possible that what was reported was one of merely several different ideas pitched to Nintendo. We have no way of knowing…

Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has stated that the rumors regarding Netflix’ adaptation of The Legend of Zelda is based on inaccurate information. In a recent interview that Time Magazine had with the Nintendo executive he mentioned a variety of things including the news on Nintendo developing on handheld devices, the free-to-play market, the Amiibos and other toys and a big reveal: the rumors that started a month and a half ago on the website of the Wall Street Journal that…

About a month ago, rumor spread of a Netflix original in the works based on The Legend of Zelda series. The Internet exploded with fan remarks on how this would either ruin the series or bring it to a new form of media in a fun way. The reaction was so strong that a petition to kill the show was created, even before it was officially announced. It is important to note that at this time, it is still just a rumor. However, one person who remained positive about it was popular YouTube Zelda fan, Katie Wilson. I recently had the privilege to speak with Katie…

Two weeks ago the people over at Netflix kicked the beehive of Zelda rumors by announcing that they are in the early stage of developing a live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Many people saw this as something amazing, others were more cautious, a third group began to recite the cartoon while others pointed out that this possible just meant that Netflix is merely working on a pitch for Nintendo. Many people began to theorize on how to make…

When one ponders the possibility of a Zelda television series or movie, the general idea that pops into one’s head is an adaptation of one of the games, likely Ocarina of Time. The story would follow the events from the game, with the viewers following Link around on his adventure and Navi as his sidekick; the show would also likely implement plenty of creative license to better flesh-out the characters and locations and enhance the dialogue from the way it appeared in the 1998 original…
