OoT 3D Language stuff

Greetings! As you may or may not have noticed, I have been using my PAL copy of OoT 3D to aquire item descriptions in other languages and posting them in my sandbox. Is this something you would be interested in having on the wiki properly, or shall I simply keep it in my sandbox? I want to produce a text dump, but feel at the moment it would be too much to do and very time-consuming. (Especially in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian!)

Alright, I made a template for it. Here's an example using your Spirit Tracks Treasure Table:
In Other Languages[show]
I may have to tweak it a little bit, and there's an organization issue I thought of: This only handles descriptions from one game, so putting this at the bottom of a page for something that appeared in several games might not make sense. We could dump all the games' descriptions in the description attribute with <br>s, unless you have any better ideas. << Locke(T·C) >> 13:07, November 1, 2011 (CDT)
That template looks pretty good. What's <br>s? I was thinking we could have different tables for different games, e.g. for the Hookshot, you'd have ALttP table, OoT table, MM table etc. Curly 13:38, November 1, 2011 (CDT)

Formatting

Hey Locke. I have a question. When I edit articles (Deku Scrub, for instance), I use H1 for different topics (Appearances, trivia, gallery) because that's how it is on the Deku Baba page. On the main page it says to follow that page as an example for formatting, so how come it's always changed to H2? -- TSterTheGreat (Talk) 21:21, December 5, 2011 (CST)

Actually it should be H2 as the highest heading. H1 is buggy, breaks some our scripts, and isn't the right size. It's too big. If you see H1 where it should be H2, change it to H2.— Emma (Talk) 21:54, December 5, 2011 (CST)
Alright, thanks. I'll be sure to do that from now on - TSterTheGreat (Talk) 21:58, December 5, 2011 (CST)

Focus note

Hey Locke, recently I noticed you placed a focus note on the goron mines page. I basically built that page and I am always trying to update it, and thus am always revisiting it. I dont understand what the focus note means. Appropriate page? Merging? Could you please shed some light on what you are trying to say to the editors of the page?  the preceding unsigned post by Fused shadows (contribs) at 10:15, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

Well, the biggest thing is that I don't think it's appropriate to have detailed boss strategies on the Dungeon page; those should go on the Boss's page. I say "Focus" because the article should be focused on the dungeon itself. Obviously the boss, mini-boss, items, etc. are part of the dungeon, but they should be described as they relate to the dungeon, and the specifics should be left to their respective pages (using the Main template). I've also noticed that some dungeon pages (besides the ones you've been working on) are becoming very walkthrough-ish, which also isn't appropriate (we have walkthroughs on the site).
As another example, I don't think it's necessary to explain what a small key is for each dungeon - there's already a whole page for that. I guess it might be okay to note how many there are, or anything unique about them (e.g. in OoT Fire Temple they're found by freeing Gorons), though I almost think it would be best to just list them, like the enemies. So, in short, I'd like to cut down on repetitiveness. If something is dealt with on another article, then only the relevant aspects should be touched upon. << Locke(T·C) >> 16:23, March 4, 2012 (CST)
Oh yeah, also, try not to link to redirect pages, just like with disambiguation pages. Always link straight to the appropriate article. If you want a different name to appear, use the pipe notation. Thanks! << Locke(T·C) >> 16:26, March 4, 2012 (CST)
