Located at the northwest portion of Skyloft, the Sparring Hall is where Link can first learn how to master the art of the sword. This is also where Link acquires the first sword in the game, the Practice Sword. Under the teachings of Eagus, Link will learn to master the 1:1 controls of the game by slashing carefully placed logs with certain angled weak points. When Link hits these spots with his sword correctly, they will brake in half and he will be encouraged by Eagus. This is also the place where Link learns the Ending Strike, a sword technique that steals the final breath of a targeted foe once they are down. Link can return to this place at any point in the game to practice with his sword.
