The '''Slingshot''' is a basic ranged weapon found in a handful of [[The Legend of Zelda (Series)|''The Legend of Zelda'' games]]. It's not particulary powerful and is usually replaced fairly quickly by the [[Bow]].

Found [[Inside the Deku Tree]], this [[Fairy Slingshot|slingshot]] can hold up to 30 [[Deku Seed|seeds]]. Using it puts the player into a first-person perspective, and all shots arc downwards after traveling a while. Link can get a sack pouch capable of holding 40 seeds in the [[Lost Woods]] if he shoots the bulls-eye on the 'target' of the tree on the way to [[Saria]], it has a [[Deku Scrub]] sitting on top of the tree in its hole. Link can acquire the 50 seed sack at the [[Shooting Gallery]] in [[Castle Town]].

The Slingshot is an item found in various levels in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures|Four Swords Adventures]]''. This item functions similarly to it's previous incarnations, but can be charged in order to make the seeds fly farther, and has unlimited ammo. If given to the [[Great Fairy]] and upgraded to level 2, it will allow Link to fire the slingshot from 3 different directions at once.  

The Slingshot in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess|Twilight Princess]]'' is sold by [[Sera]] at her shop in [[Ordon Village]], [[Sera's Sundries]], for 30 [[Rupee]]s.{{Ref|TP|4063|[[Sera]]}} Link can buy it once he has used the [[Fishing Rod]] to catch two [[Greengill]]s, one of which Sera's cat will take back to their master. If Link then enters Sera's Sundries, Sera will be very happy, telling Link her cat caught a fish all by himself.{{Ref|TP|3343|[[Sera]]}} Because she is so happy, she will give will a [[Bottle]] of [[Milk]].{{Ref|TP|3340|Sera}} Now that Sera is happy again, Link can shop at her shop again, and subsequently the Slinshot.  

After purchasing the Slingshot, Link can head to the small area where his [[Link's House|house]] can be found. Here, [[Malo]], [[Talo]], and [[Beth]] will be very excited to see Link has the Slingshot.{{Ref|TP|3545|[[Talo]]}} They will then set up a sort of targeting practice area, where the goal is to shoot down all the targets and scarecrow.{{Ref|TP|3570|Talo}} After doing those, the kids will be amazed.{{Ref|TP|3582|Kids of Ordon}} This part serves as the tutorial for the slingshot, allowing the player to learn how to use it in a way that seems part of the story.

It functions the same way as the [[Hero's Bow]] in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess|Twilight Princess]]'', except that it arcs downward after a while. It is most useful against [[Walltula]]s, as they usually hang on vines and cannot be killed with a [[Sword]]. After Link acquires the Hero's Bow from the [[Goron Mines]], the Slingshot has no use, as everything it did the bow does better.

Link obtains the Slingshot after finding the [[Bucha|Kikwi elder's]] friends. Unlike the Bow and Arrow, the Slingshot only requires the player to point and shoot with the Wiimote, so the Slingshot isn't too different from the Twilight Princess version. [[Link]] will simply take aim and shoot. This allows Link to fire at enemies quickly in battle when he can't take the time to aim with the Bow, due to its aiming mechanism.
