Octoball Derby is just one of the many games that Link is able to play in A Link Between Worlds.

The Octoball Derby is located south of the Blacksmith's house in Lorule. Characters present in this location include the Derby Boy who you must talk to in order to start the mini-game. Octo, a friendly octorock who pitches balls at Link during the game, and the Derby Girl who gives Link hints at how to play.

The main objective of the game is to score as many rupees as you can before the 30 pitches are done. During the game Link can adjust his pose by moving the circle pad up or down on the 3DS. You swing with the A button. Rupees are earned by breaking pots in the field with the pitch. You can also get a bird to fly across the screen after the consecutive pot breaks. The normal pots are worth one rupee, the gold pots are worth 5 rupees, and the bird if successfully hit will be worth 20 rupees.

If Link manages to score over 100 rupees then he will receive a heart piece.
