The Heart Potion is one of the standard potions you can buy from the Potion Shop in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. You can purchase the potion at the potion shop for 20 Rupees. When you use the heart potion, it will restore 8 of Link's hearts.
Upgrades
Heart Potion +

The Heart Potion + is an upgrade to the Heart Potion. It can be obtained my first buying a Heart Potion from the Potion Shop, and then going over to Bertie and tell him to upgrade it. Link needs 3 Blessed Butterfly, 1 Volcanic Ladybug, and 1 Woodland Rhino Beetle. It costs 20 Rupees to upgrade. The Heart Potion + will restore all of Link's hearts if drank.
Heart Potion ++

The Heart Potion ++ is the final upgrade to the Heart Potion. In order to obtain it, Link must have a Heart Potion +. Once he does, he can go over to Bertie and ask him to upgrade it. This upgrade requires 3 Blessed Butterfly, 3 Deku Hornets, 1 Eldin Roller, and 1 Sand Cicada. The price is 30 Rupees.
