The Bombites (ボマー, Bomu) are enemies from Link's Awakening that resemble a bomb with eyes and feet. They are based of Bob-omb from Super Mario series and The Minish Cap.

Appearances

Link's Awakening

The Bombites are enemies that can be found in the dungeons of Koholint Island. They come in two varieties; green and red.

Green Bombite

When attacked, Green Bombites will show a number on their body. The number will start at 3, and gradually count down to 1. When the timer gets to 1, the green Bombite will flash and explode like a normal bomb. As it is counting down, the green Bombite will follow you around the room. There are two methods of avoiding the green Bombite's explosion. The easiest way is to slash your sword to push them back when they get near you. The second method would be to try and outrun them. However, trying to outrun them is only effective if you are fighting one at a time.

Red Bombite

When you attack a Red Bombite, it will ricochet around the room, bouncing off of the walls. Red Bombites will explode a few seconds after you hit them. When trying to defeat a red Bombite, try to hit it in a straight path, rather than diagonally. If you hit them diagonally, it may be hard to predict their path and you will end up being hit or having the Bombite explode near you. If the red Bombite touches another enemy while it is bouncing around the room, it will explode on contact and may kill the enemy it touched.
