The Gibdos from Tears of the Kingdom appear around the Gerudo Desert and Gerudo Town. They are weak to elemental attacks such as Fire and Electricity, which effectively kill them in one hit, as well as being repelled by light; however, they are nigh invulnerable to other attacks. They drop Gibdo Bones and occasionally Gibdo Guts which can be used in weapon fusion and elixirs respectively. There is also a variant known as the Moth Gibdo which possesses wings. The Gibdo can appear out of pods that can be destroyed with Riju's lightning. These Gibdos undergo a departure from their previous look as bandaged cadavers. Instead of mummies, they now resemble insectoid humanoids, with a face resembling the mask of a ReDead.
Link and Riju eventually discover that the Gibdos invading Gerudo Town and the surrounding area and coming from the Queen Gibdo at the Lightning Temple.

Following the clearance of the Sand Shroud, the Gibdos become less common in the region.
