Tears of the Kingdom
Lizalfos in Tears of the Kingdom return from the previous game with much of their similar qualities, with the marked difference now being that each Lizalfos variant now drops both their own distinct horn and tail upon defeat. Like Breath of the Wild, using a bow is among one of the most reliable strategies to defeat the standard green and blue variants, as one or two shots to their heads will take them out. There are many different types of Lizalfos in Tears of the Kingdom, such as the standard Green Lizalfos, or Fire-Breath Lizalfos; with 8 distinct types, they remain the enemies in the game with the most variations. If meat is dropped on the ground in front of them, they will pick it up and eat it, restoring 100 percent of their health. They retain their speed and ability to swim from the previous game, and all variants have a new attack where they will swing their horns from side to side 4 times or until Link is injured. All Lizalfos variants can be encountered wielding either fused or unfused Lizal Boomerangs, with the fused variant usually fused with crude materials such as rocks and mushrooms. If Link wears the Lizalfos Mask or Majora's Mask in front of a Lizalfos, the Lizalfos will not attack him, but instead investigate him, though if Link hits the Lizalfos while wearing the masks, the Lizalfos will attack. (If it's a pack of Lizalfos, if Link hits one member of the pack, the pack of Lizalfos will start attacking.)
When slain, basic Lizalfos will drop Lizalfos Horns, Lizalfos Talons and Lizalfos Tails.
Blue Lizalfos
A slightly stronger variant of the Green Lizalfos. Often seen wielding reinforced Strengthened Lizal Bows and Reinforced Lizal Shields. Upon death, they drop the katana-like Blue Lizalfos Horn and occasionally Blue Lizalfos Tails.
Black Lizalfos
Even more powerful than the Blue variant, these Lizalfos are usually the leader of their pack. They attack quicker, and carry stronger weapons, including the Steel Lizal Bow and Steel Lizal Shield. Upon death, they drop the serrated-edge Black Lizalfos Horn and occasionally Black Lizalfos Tails.
Fire-Breath Lizalfos
Fire-Breath Lizalfos
This variant of Lizalfos appears primarily in hot regions of the game, such as on Death Mountain, Gerudo Canyon during the daytime, and areas of the Depths that are corelated to those areas on the surface. They act in a very similar way to regular Lizalfos, but are also able to breathe fire. Link can avoid taking damage here by holding out his shield, or, if he has all three pieces of the Flamebreaker Outfit equipped and enhanced at least twice, the fire will deal no damage at all. Upon death, the Fire-Breath Lizalfos will drop a Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horn, which can be used to fuse together a fire-damage weapon, and occasionally but rarely drop Fire-Breath Lizalfos Tails. They can be instantly killed with weapons fused with an ice-powered horn, or arrows fused with Ice Fruit, White Chuchu Jelly, Ice Keese Wings, Ice Keese Eyeballs or other cold materials.
Ice-Breath Lizalfos
Ice-Breath Lizalfos
This variant of Lizalfos is often found in the coldest regions of the game, such as Mount Lanayru, the Hebra Mountains, Gerudo Highlands, Gerudo Canyon during the nighttime, and areas of the Depths that are corelated to those areas on the surface. these Lizalfos have the unique ability to spit out many icy balls at will. If these balls come into contact with Link, they will freeze him, and leave him vulnerable to other attacks. Link can avoid taking damage if he has either Zant's Helmet equipped or the full Snowquill Set equipped and upgraded at least twice, in which he will not be frozen. Upon death, they will drop an Ice-Breath Lizalfos Horn, which can be used to fuse together an ice-damage weapon, and occasionally but rarely drop Ice-Breath Lizalfos Tails. They can be instantly killed with weapons fused with an fire-powered horn, or arrows fused with Fire Fruit, Red Chuchu Jelly, Fire Keese Wings, Fire Keese Eyeballs or other fiery materials.
Electric Lizalfos
Electric Lizalfos
Electric Lizalfos are typically found in the Gerudo Desert, in the Faron-Regional jungles and along the coast of the Faron Sea, where they sometimes lie in wait beneath the sand before jumping out to ambush Link. They can create a dome of electricity at will, which can force Link to drop his metal equipment, unless he is wearing either the Lightning Helm or the full Rubber Set after it has been upgraded at least twice, in which case he will take no damage. Upon death, they will drop Electric Lizalfos Horns, which can be used to fuse together an electric-damage weapon, and occasionally but rarely drop Electric Lizalfos Tails.
Silver Lizalfos
These are the most powerful versions of the Lizalfos in the current game. They are much more aggressive than any other versions, have faster attacking speed, especially with bows, and have significantly more health than weaker variants. Upon death, they will drop Silver Lizalfos Horns, which are sharp enough to cut through both trees and rocks, and occasionally Silver Lizalfos Tails.
Stalizalfos
Stalizalfos
This variant of Lizalfos only appears at night or in the Depths, and behaves very similarly to creatures such as Stalchildren from previous games. They only have 1 HP, but when struck, their heads will drop to the ground, and will need to be destroyed in order to be fully rid of Stalizalfos. They often appear in groups of 2 or 3. Like other Stal enemies in Tears of the Kingdom, they can be instantly killed if Link shoots or throws a Dazzlefruit anywhere in their range.
