Silver Lynels are the most lethal of all Lynels found in Breath of the Wild's standard mode. They are bolstered by Ganon's evil magic like the other silver variations of enemies, such as the Silver Moblin. Usually mistaken as a White-Maned Lynel, despite the color pattern on the silver one being inverted from the White-Maned Lynel. As Link progresses through the game, many of the Lynels across Hyrule will be upgraded to the Silver kind. They have a chance to drop rare materials, including Star Fragments.

Silver Lynels reappear from Breath of the Wild albeit in much lesser quantities, with adjusted enemy balancing allowing for each of every type of Lynel to share overworld space with each other at the same time. At a certain point, A Silver Lynel will always be found in Nautelle Wetlands, and gloom-covered Silver Lynels found in the depths below Muihcoro Lightroot and in the gloom covered passage leading to the final encounter with Ganondorf. They carry over many of their characteristics from Breath of the Wild with the most notable differences being that they now drop Silver Lynel Saber Horns and Silver Lynel Mace Horns upon defeat in place of Gems and Star Fragments, and that on occasion they will be encountered clad in rock armor, becoming stunned for a moment once it's broken apart. Silver Lynel Saber Horns and Silver Lynel Mace Horns have a fuse power of 55 and 51 respectively, making them approximately the two strongest fuse materials in the game, and is effective respectively for slash and hammer-type attacks. Lynel Hoofss and Lynel Gutss will also be dropped, along with a variety of higher level fused/unfused basic weapons, and Savage Lynel Bows.
