Link gets out of bed, just as his uncle is leaving the house with sword and shield in hand. He tells him he'll be back by morning, and not to leave the house. After his uncle leaves, Link ventures outside into the stormy night making his way through the rain to the [[Hyrule Castle (A Link to the Past)|castle]]. Drawing near, Zelda informs him that there is a secret passage into the castle. Traveling down this passage, he suddenly stumbles upon his uncle who is mortally wounded.
