(Added the somewhat credible theory that the Great Plateau is the remnants of Hyrule Castle Town from Ocarina of Time to the Trivia section)
Line 102: Line 102:
* It's one of the regions of Hyrule which is devoid of physical Malice. Also, no Blood Moons may occur while The Isolated Plateau quest hasn't been completed, and there are no Yiga Clansmen found there.

* Aside from DLC-related quests and items, and to scavenge for resources and Korok Seeds, there's little to no necessity to return to the plateau in the base game.

* As shown by this video, the Great Plateau somewhat resembles the Hyrule Castle Town from Ocarina of Time. The fountain square mostly matches up in appearance, even if it is almost entirely in ruins. When lining up the map of Castle Town with that of the Great Plateau, most landmarks will fit perfectly, such as the Temple of Time and the passageway that lead to Hyrule Castle. The archway from Ocarina of Time is there, broken, and the subsequent path to the Castle (now the Eastern Abbey) is also very similar to that which Link must take while avoiding the guards' sight in Ocarina of Time. A theory for the Abbey being in place of the Castle would be its destruction after the events of Ocarina of Time, with 10,000 years having passed. Even so, the Castle's moat can still be made out. The Abbey's layout also somewhat resembles the Castle's maze-like gardens, which Link must traverse in Ocarina of Time. If this theory is to be believed, then the fact that Castle Town is facing the wrong direction could add to the theory that the Great Plateau was placed there artificially.
