A Chilfos is an icy, humanoid enemy. From medium to long range he will throw his spear at you, regenerating on every four or five seconds. In close combat he will just use his spear as a sword. He will defend and attack with it. When his spear brakes a new one is automatically regenerated. The chilfos will be at full health again when a spear is regenerated.

Especially in groups, they are troublesome to defeat. The best approach is to take them on one at a time. You can easily dispatch a Chilfos by targeting it, and performing the Helm Splitter technique. From long range, you may also shoot it twice with bomb arrows, one to break its spear, and another to finish it off. The spear will regenerate after being broken, so be wary.

When you are trying to shoot him from a medium distance with a bomb arrow, there is one cool little trick to just use one bomb arrow. You need to stand close enough to him that he will throw his spear at you. You need to wait 'till he throws it and then quickly counterattack with a bomb arrow. You can avoid the thrown spear by using Z-aiming. When you hit him before he can regenerate his spear he will die instantly.
