Upon first entering the room, the area appears to be empty,{{Ref|pg. 45|When you first enter the Nightmare's chamber, you won't see it anywhere because it's clinging to the ceiling.|''Link's Awakening Nintendo Player's Guide''}} but soon after, Slime Eyes says that [[Link]] won't be able to find him.{{Ref|LA|203|Slime Eyes}} [[Zol]]s start to fall from the ceiling and continue to come. Link can use the [[Pegasus Boots]] to dash into the walls of the room to knock down Slime Eyes, who is clinging onto the ceiling.{{Ref|pg. 45|Use the Pegasus Boots to crash against the wall and make it appear.|''Link's Awakening Nintendo Player's Guide''}}{{Ref|pg. 104|Put on the Pegasus Boots, then charge the wall to make the Slimes Eyes appear.|''[[Nintendo Power]] Issue 104''}} At first, it looks like one giant eye, but after Link slashes it enough times with his [[sword]], it slowly starts to split into two separate eyes.{{Ref|pg. 45|If you attack the single eye that appears, Slime Eyes will start to split into two parts.|''Link's Awakening Nintendo Player's Guide''}} Once they are connected only by a thread, he can rush into it with the Pegasus Boots, cutting off their connection.{{Ref|pg. 67|Use your Boots to charge into Slime Eyes until its creepy peepers are separated.|''Nintendo Power Issue 95''}}{{Ref|pg. 104|Ram the peepers using your dash attack to separate them into two eyeballs, then poke each eye out with your sword.|''Nintendo Power Issue 104''}} Both eyes then attack Link separately, each one occasionally jumping up to the ceiling and falling back down with a crash that temporarily stuns Link. Once he hits each eyeball with his sword until both eyes are defeated, Link is rewarded with a [[Heart Container]] and is allowed passage into the next room containing the Sea Lily's Bell.
