A Color-Changing Gel is a variant of the Gel, found within Oracle of Ages.[1]
The Legend of Zelda
Color-Changing Gel first appear within the Wing Dungeon. They appear in rooms where all of the tiles on the ground are a specific color, but there is always a central tile that Link can jump over with Roc's Feather. When Link does jump over this tile, the colors of the ground tiles will change, revealing that there are actually Gel on the ground. While the Gel are visible, Link can strike them with his Sword to defeat them. However, if a few moments go by, the Gel will change color, camouflaging itself with the new background color.
Even if Link knows where a Gel is on a screen, if it camouflages itself with the background, it is not vulnerable to Link's attacks. The Gels can turn Red, Yellow, or Blue. They later appear within the Skull Dungeon, and again in Mermaid's Cave.
