The '''Stepladder'''{{Ref|LoZ|29|In-Game Description}} is an item from ''[[The Legend of Zelda]]''. It is found in the fourth dungeon, [[Level 4: The Snake]]. This item is used to allow [[Link]] to cross small holes and rivers that are as wide as he is.{{Ref|name=Quote1}} This item is required to retrieve one of the five overworld [[Heart Container]]s found in the game. Also, there are numerous small holes in the floor of dungeons throughout the game that can be crossed, either for shortcut purposes or because they are in the way. The Stepladder is the only item Link can use to cross these gaps. Examples of these holes appear in most of the later dungeons, including [[Level 5: The Lizard]] and [[Level 7: The Demon]].
