The console's announcement at E3 [[2011]] was accompanied with a demo featuring ''Zelda'' assets, though this demo wasn't created by the ''Zelda'' team at [[Nintendo EAD]] and was not related to a future ''Zelda'' game. A remake of ''The Wind Waker'' has been released in Fall of 2013 on the Wii U with updated HD graphics.

The Nintendo Wii U is the sixth home video game console made by Nintendo to be released internationally. It is Nintendo's first console to feature high definition graphics outputting at 1080p. The Wii U is backwards compatible with all Nintendo Wii games and is able to emulate a Wii itself, thus allowing access to all Wii Virtual Console and WiiWare titles.
