Green Tunic

"Clothing
Link's main piece of Clothing is a green Jerkin. Almost every young boy in Hyrule wears some type of Jerkin. The material is very light, yet it retains a unique insulating quality. It's perfect for all weather conditions. Link will always wear it, but later in his quest he will want to improve his chances of survival by wearing Blue or Red Tunic over the Jerkin. A floppy Cap is also part of Link's garb.

— Nintendo Power Player's Guide

The Green Tunic is Link's starting Tunic in A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds. With the exceptions of The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, and Skyward Sword, Link always begins his quest with a Green tunic. In several Zelda titles, Link never acquires a second tunic, but often times other items or abilities will cause the color of his tunic to change. The names of the various tunics that Link acquires vary from game to game.
