Demise is the Final Boss and primary antagonist in Skyward Sword, the final form of The Imprisoned, and is the master of Demon Lord Ghirahim. Ghirahim successfully revives him in the World of the Past, and Link must defeat him.

Battle
In the first phase of the battle, Demise's only attack is slashing with his sword, which is pretty awkward to avoid, but with good timing and reaction, you should get the job done. When you try to hit Demise with your sword, you shall quickly find out he will block almost any attack, but Fi gives a good hint to defeat Demise:"Wait until he raises his sword.", it's one of the only gaps in Demise's defense. When you have hit him enough, he'll fall unto the ground, when he does so, you'll have to quickly deliver an attack before he gets up. Then you'll start the second phase of the battle, when you don't, he'll get up and you have to start all over again. In the second phase of the battle, he'll summon lightning clouds and he will start to fight serious. His primary attack will still be the same, but this time he'll also drop lightning in order to hurt you. This time, you have to stick your sword in the air when he'll drop lightning in order to absorb it in your sword and slash towards Demise so he'll get stunned and then hit him with your sword. When you hit him enough he'll again fall unto the ground and you'll have to deliver a Fatal Blow. When you do so, Demise is defeated.
In the first phase of the battle, Demise's only attack is slashing with his sword, which is pretty awkward to avoid, but with good timing and reaction, Link is able to get the job done. When Link tries to strike Demise with the True Master Sword, he quickly finds out that the demon blocks almost any attack. However Fi gives a good hint to defeat Demise: "Wait until he raises his sword.", it's one of the only gaps in Demise's defense. When Link has hit the demon king enough, he falls onto the ground, when he does so, Link has to quickly deliver an attack before he gets up. Once Link has damaged Demise enough, the second phase initiates.

After his defeat, his soul is absorbed by the Master Sword, where it will decay over time.
In the second phase of the battle, Demise summons lightning clouds and he seems to be much more intense and infuriated. His primary attack stays the same, but this time he also draws lightning in order to hurt the young hero. This time, Link has to assume the position of the Skyward Strike, this enables Link's sword to become infused with lightning. Link can use this lighting to slash towards Demise, thus stunning him, which allows the young hero to strike. When Link deals enough damage, Demise once again falls onto the ground and Link has to deliver a Fatal Blow. When he does so, Demise is defeated.

After he is defeated, he vows that his hatred will manifest itself time and time again, and it will pursue the descendants of Link and Zelda as long as Hyrule is in existence; possibly hinting that he is the origin of Ganondorf.

Trivia
* Although they sound different due to physical appearances, Demise uses the same voice as Scervo and Dreadfuse.
* Though Demise himself doesn't appear in Hyrule Warriors, there is a reference to him when Ghirahim compares Ganondorf to him at the end of the Ganondorf's Return scenario.
