Bow Soldier

Archers reside in the Light World overworld. They hide in the grass and bushes waiting for you. When you come in their range, they begin to shoot at you. Sometimes they'll be in groups while running back and forth. Run up to them while moving in zigzag patterns to avoid their arrows. Use your sword on them after you get up to them. Another strategy would be to give them a taste of their own medicine by shooting arrows at them. Archers look just like Soldiers but with Bows instead.
