Bow-Wow is an enemy that appears in several Zelda games. They closely resemble Chain Chomps from the Mario series. In Four Swords, they are actually an equipable item that can be used to defeat enemies.

A Link to the Past

There are two Bow-Wows in A Link to the Past, and both reside in the same room in Turtle Rock. The Two Bow-Wows can be found early in the dungeon, and are undefeatable. They're chained to blocks, and lash out at you every now and then. Counter their patterns accordingly and move into the next room. They do a lot of damage if you come into contact with them, so that's the one thing that you have to remember.

Link's Awakening

In Link's Awakening, there is a Bow-Wow chained to the house of Madame MeowMeow in Mabe Village. With the help of this Bow-Wow, Link can gain access to the second dungeon in the game.

Four Swords

In Four Swords, Bow-Wow is an item you can get. The item acts similarly to Link's Awakening when Link has the pet Bow-Wow.

Four Swords Adventures

A Bow-Wow also appears in Four Swords Adventures, where it can't be defeated, like in A Link to the Past.
