Ascend is an ability that Link can use in Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom
Link is able to use Ascend while inside of a structure or beneath terrain or landscape, such as when he is within a cave. When Link uses Ascend, he can travel upward, through the ceiling and appear higher up on the surface. While Ascend does have some limitations, it will allow Link to quickly scale large structures, as opposed to having to climb them from the outside.
Link can use the Ascend ability if he is seemingly trapped inside of a cage like structure, escaping through the ceiling.
