In late 2011, Nintendo offered three special Zelda-themed Nintendo points cards to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series. These cards could be used to purchase online content from Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo DSi Shop, and the Nintendo eShop.

Version

Japanese Version

  • The prepaid cards worked across all Nintendo download services. So, the cards could be used with the Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo DSi Shop, and the Nintendo eShop.
  • There were three cards with different The Legend of Zelda artwork. The first card was Ocarina of Time 3D themed, the second card was Skyward Sword themed, and the third card featured an official art for every incarnation of Link we've seen throughout the series.
  • The cards cost 1000 Yen (with tax and were worth 1000 Nintendo Points redeemable for Wii, DSi, or 3DS purchases.)
  • The prepaid cards for Japanese version were actual plastic cards.

US Version

  • America only got two of these cards. The first one was Nintendo 3DS Prepaid Card, and the second one was Nintendo Points Card.
  • The Nintendo 3DS Prepaid Card, which was used in the Nintendo eShop of the Nintendo 3DS system, was Ocarina of Time 3D themed, featuring an image of Link battling Ganon.
  • The Nintendo Points Card, which could be used in the Wii Shop Channel or Nintendo DSi Shop, was Skyward Sword themed, showing Link flying high in a scene from Skyward Sword. This card was worth 2000 Nintendo Points.
  • They were available at Gamestop, Target, Best Buy, Nintendoworld, and Toys-R-Us from October the 3rd, 2011, until February the 20th, 2012, when the series' 25th anniversary officially ended.
  • The prepaid cards for US version was printed in cardboard card.

Europe Version

  • The prepaid cards worked across all Nintendo download services. So, the cards could be used with the Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo DSi Shop, and the Nintendo eShop.
  • Europe got all three of these cards, and featured the same artwork from the Japanese version.
