After the Imprisoning War, the land of Hyrule found peace once again. However a powerful wizard named [[Agahnim]] seeked out the entrance to the Sacred Realm, now known as the Dark World. After gaining the trust from the King of Hyrule, Agahnim decided to betray him. He manipulated the [[Hylian Soldiers]], making them hostile and tasked them with sending the remaining [[Seven Maidens|Maidens]] to the Dark World. As a result of this, Princess Zelda was locked up in the castle and sent out a message to Link and his Uncle. However after finding his Uncle dead within the grounds, it was up to Link to save the Princess. | |||

To be able to draw the ancient sword, Link must first collect the three [[Pendants of Virtue]] across Hyrule. After doing this he confronts Agahnim in Hyrule Castle.
