Strange occurrences have happened recently in a fearful Hyrule. Zelda and the six maidens have reasons to believe that the cause of this foreboding air is the weakening seal on Vaati, the Wind Mage. To verify their presumptions, the maidens open the portal to the Four Sword Sanctuary, the sealing place of Vaati. When they are successful, Shadow Link emerges from the portal and kidnaps the maidens. Link follows him back into the portal and finds the Four Sword waiting in its resting place. He draws it and in doing so splits into four. However, Vaati is released from his prison and starts to cover the world in darkness. It is now up to Link once again to stop Vaati from terrorizing Hyrule.
