Before it exhales flame, it inhales, allowing Link to feed him a [[bomb]] by throwing it in his open mouth. King Dodongo is stunned momentarily, providing Link with the opportunity to attack him with a [[Jump Attack]] with a [[Deku Stick]] or the [[Kokiri Sword]], the Deku Stick technique dealing much more damage.{{Ref|OoT|756|Kokiri}} it then curls up, preparing to roll around. In order to avoid King Dodongo's rolling attack, Link can stand on the sloped inside of the ring near the lava or tuck into a crouch in the corners of the arena behind the bomb flowers. Whenever King Dodongo rolls, it always goes halfway around the ring, bouncing off of one corner and stopping at the next. Once it rolls past, Link can follow close behind him. After, it can repeat the process by throwing another bomb. In the instance that Link runs out of bombs, [[Bomb Flower]]s are available in every corner of the arena. Unlike many other bosses in ''Ocarina of Time'', there is no "second-phase" to this battle.
