Link must then defeat them in a boss battle. In the first stage of the battle, he must reflect Kotake's ice beams at Koume and Koume's fire beams at Kotake. They will then merge to form Twinrova. Link must store three of the same elemental beam in his mirror shield, causing it to shoot back at Twinrova. She will collapse, giving Link a chance to damage her with his sword. After they have been defeated, they ascend to heaven while bickering.

In the 3DS OofT, "Twinrova" is removed for the descriptions of Koume and Kotake. So instead of being "Twinrova Koume" and "Twinrova Kotake," they are just known as "Koume and Kotake."
