While exploring Yarna Desert, [[Link]] finds an area of quicksand where the Desert Lanmola makes its home. Getting annoyed by the hindrance Link is becoming, the Lanmola leaps out of the sand to run into Link, descending into another part of the sand. While the Desert Lanmola doesn't try to attack Link directly, the sand vortex at the center of the quicksand proves the biggest concern for Link because if he falls into the sand vortex and into the cave, the damage done to the Desert Lanmola will be reversed. While trying to avoid the center of the quicksand, Link should slash at the head of the Lanmola with the [[sword]] after it has leaped into the air, taking eights hits to defeat him with. Link can also use the [[Bow]] to attack the desert menace. Once Link defeats the Desert Lanmola, he is rewarded with the Angler Key.
