Just southeast of the tower, Link will find [[Kazul]], standing near a [[Cooking Pot]]. After Link has completed one of the [[Regional Phenomena]], Link can speak with Kazul to begin the [[Investigate the Thyphlo Ruins]] quest. If Link talks to him beforehand, Kazul mentions that he's going to get started on research on his own, since he hasn't made any major discoveries yet. The quest leads to Link acquiring numerous gems, including multiple [[Saphire]], [[Ruby]], [[Opal]], and [[Topaz]].
