The Lowder is a beetle with a hard shell that can be found in deserts and caves in ''[[Zelda II: The Adventure of Link|The Adventure of Link]]''. These bugs crawl slowly across the floor in search of any food, but it will charge with high speed when it detects [[Link (The Legend of Zelda)#The Adventure of Link|Link]]. They are mostly harmless, but some have been known to attack when caught off-guard.}}

They are very small, and Link must crouch or use the [[Down Thrust|Downward Thrust]] in order to kill them. Link gains 3 [[Experience Point|experience points]] for defeating the Lowder.

Lowder can be found crawling on the floor in Ganon's Lair. These tiny enemies are very hard to defeat because of their small stature. Even when they are on a level ground, kneeling and swinging the sword will not do the trick since they are too short. Instead, Link will have to ensure that they are on a higher ground, and then swing his sword. In some cases this is impossible, so they just need to be avoided.  

It is best to defeat them in the distance when at all possible by using the sword beam attack. If Link must, bombs are also an effective way of defeat them. Due to the lack of recovery time, a simple Lowder can take away several heart pieces almost instantaneously if they get too close to Link.  

Lowder can be found crawling on top of tree branches in Washubi Swamp. They look like and act the same as the did in ''The Faces of Evil''.
