In ''The Legend of Zelda'', these enemies are quite dangerous. They hop around the screen causing two hearts of damage anytime they touch [[Link]]. Their jumps could take them over blocks and water making them even more dangerous. The easiest way to defeat this enemy is by shooting an [[Arrow]] at them with the [[Bow]]. Pols Voice can also be destroyed with ten sword slashes with the [[Wooden Sword]], but it is much faster to use the Bow. In the Japanese version of the game, Pols Voice could be defeated by shouting into the microphone that was built into the controllers of the [[Nintendo Entertainment System#Nintendo Famicom|Nintendo Famicom]].
