These are very diverse creatures new to Skyward Sword that live in the forest region. They appear to be friendly toward Link, but what purpose they serve is unknown. One disguises itself as a bush until Link approaches, and then it retracts the leaves into its tail and faces him much like a Business Scrub from Ocarina of Time. Another lacks this tail, but still lies face-down on the ground when it isn't talking to Link. An older-looking one also appears, who seems to be more active. The actual name of these creatures is unknown, but they vaguely resemble [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanooki|Tanooki]] from Japanese culture, or even penguins or squirrels.
