'''Young Link''' is the younger version of [[Link]] from ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time|Ocarina of Time]]'' and ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask|Majora's Mask]]'' and often appears as a playable character in non-canon games.

In ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', Young Link appears as a playable fighter. He can be unlocked by completing Classic or Adventure Mode with ten characters, or by taking part in 500 VS matches. His moveset is almost identical to Link, although he is smaller, faster, and more agile. He also uses [[Fire Arrow]]s instead of the normal arrows.

 

There are also three trophies based on Young Link:

 

| With a youthful spring in his step, Young Link can perform amazing wall-jumps. Once he hits a wall, tap the Control stick in the opposite direction to send him leaping upward; you can practice to your heart's content in Target Test. His [[Spin Attack]] can strike multiple times even on the ground, and although it's hard to discern, so do his [[Bomb]]s.

 

Young Link is a playable warrior in ''[[Hyrule Warriors]]''. His abilities and appearance are based on ''Majora's Mask'', and he has both the [[Keaton Mask]] and the [[Fierce Deity's Mask]] with him. Like Link, [[Proxi]] speaks in his stead. In the [[Nintendo Wii U|Wii U]] game, he is unlocked as part of the [[Hyrule Warriors#Majora's Mask Pack|Majora's Mask Pack]] DLC. In ''[[Hyrule Warriors Legends]]'' and the ''[[Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition|Definitive Edition]]'', he is unlocked on Adventure Map G-9.

In ''Hyrule Warriors'' on the Wii U, Young Link drops the same [[Hyrule Warriors Materials|materials]] as Link, which are [[Link's Boots]] as a silver material and [[Link's Scarf]] as a gold. In ''Legends'' and the ''Definitive Edition'', he drops [[Young Link's Belt]] as a silver material and the [[Keaton Mask (Hyrule Warriors)|Keaton Mask]] as a gold. Young Link is weak to darkness-element damage.

Young Link uses the darkness-element Fierce Deity's Mask as a weapon. As a child, he uses the Kokiri Sword to attack his foes. However, he can also put on his mask and turn into [[Fierce Deity Link]]. By using [[Focus Spirit]], Young Link can stay as Fierce Deity for a longer period of time, allowing him to use [[Sword Beam]]s and more powerful versions of his normal attacks. His strong attack ({{HW Button|s}}) lets him play the [[Song of Time]] on his [[Ocarina of Time|ocarina]], which allows him to turn his [[Special Attack|SP gauge]] into [[Magic Power]]. If he uses his strong attack while his [[Magic Meter]] is full, he will instead playfully put on the Keaton Mask.

Young Link returns as a playable character in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. He also has a fighter spirit, which can be unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Young Link or by purchasing it from the Vault Shop from 300G after unlocking him.

 

An [[Amiibo]] based on his appearance in Smash Bros. Ultimate was also released.
