Monte is a character found in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom

Monte works as a gatekeeper for the Emergency Shelter beneath Lookout Landing. He follows his orders, which are limited to opening and shutting the entrance to the Emergency Shelter.[1][2]

He refers to the Emergency SHelter as a safe and cozy place, away from any monsters that Link might encounter elsewhere.[3][4]

  1. "Link! Welcome, welcome! Call me Monte. You will find me employed as the gatekeeper of this fine establishment. This is the emergency shelter, where all are welcome. Please! Stay as long as you like." — Monte, Tears of the Kingdom
  2. "I, Monte, have been tasked with the illustrious duty of watching the entrance of this renowned emergency shelter. My tasks involve taking orders from my superiors regarding when to open-or-SHUT-the entranceway! A noble task indeed. Watch your footing when using the ladder. If only one could go straight through the ceiling rather than using a tiresome ladder, ha! But I digress." — Monte, Tears of the Kingdom
  3. "Indeed! This place was originally used by the royal family as a safe haven in times of need. It's quite old, so we've been fixing it up as we go, you see. At this point, we've stockpiled some supplies, and I find it to be downright cozy!" — Monte, Tears of the Kingdom
  4. "There is no need to worry about monsters while you're in the emergency shelter. Just relax, and go about your business!" — Monte, Tears of the Kingdom
