Help:Gadgets

Gadgets are pieces of JavaScript or CSS code to add optional functionality to your wiki experience. Some gadgets help improve viewing the wiki, some help editing the wiki, and others help managing the wiki. Most gadgets are small and make minor changes that improve certain minor aspects or simplify certain tasks or options. All available gadgets can be accessed through the preferences page under the Gadgets tab. Note that some gadgets require certain ranks and are not available to users of lower ranks. These restricted gadgets either relate to abilities exclusive to those ranks, or are not appropriate for normal members to access.

Note: Most gadgets are run on JavaScript and therefore will not function if your browser does not support JavaScript or if you have JavaScript disabled.

Notable Gadgets

Normal User Gadgets

These are gadgets for ordinary users that add notable features.

Gender

This gadget adds a male or female symbol to pages of users who have their genders defined in their settings. This gadget is enabled for everyone by default but can be disabled at any time.

MenuToTabs

This gadget converts the dropdown action menu containing all the extra page actions, like move and watch, into tabs, making them easier and faster to use. Works with new actions added by other gadgets. Very valuable for editors, probably undesirable for viewers.

MyUploads

This gadget adds a link in the personal toolbar to your uploaded files. This is enabled by default.

Purge

Purge adds a tab to the top of pages that clears the wiki's internal cache for a specific page or image forcing the cache to update to the most recent version, eliminating errors from the cache failing to update. This is enabled by default for everyone.

ToggleSidebar

This gadget adds a tab that provides the option to hide the sidebar to increase the viewing area of the main body of the wiki. This isn't of much use for editors, but readers might find it attractive. The gadget does not hide the sidebar by default, the tab has to be clicked each time a page is loaded to be hidden.

FastRevert

FastRevert gives a one-click link to quickly restore previous versions of a page. Due to the potential for abuse, this gadget is restricted to autoconfirmed users and above.

Ranked Gadgets

These gadgets are notable gadgets for staff members that make their tasks easier.

AjaxPatrolLinks

This gadget makes mark as patrolled links execute within the current page significantly speeding up the patrolling process. This is enabled by default for all patrollers and admins.

PatrolTab

This gadget adds a tab to pages that need to be patrolled that executes the mark as patrolled link and adds an access key (alt+x) for ease of use. Enabled by default for all patrollers and admins.

EnhancedUndelete

This gadget adds selection tools to the page undelete form to make undeleting pages easier.

UserDetails

This gadget allows viewing certain details about user accounts, including the rights groups they're in, join date, and edit count. Due to the sensitive nature of this gadget, it is restricted to admins-only.
