Over the years Link has had plenty of companions, but most of them are fairies, imps, or even hats! Though he’s had interactions with characters from common-races (like carrying Princess Ruto around in Jabu-Jabu’s belly), Link has never had a full-length game companion that was either a Goron, Deku Scrub, Zora, or any alternate races extended from those. To have a small floating fairy companion makes sense for functionality, but would a more humanoid companion be additionally useful to Link…

The Zelda series boasts more than its fair share of otherworldly and downright fascinating tribes. Similarly to some of the franchise’s most memorable characters, though, many of them serve as one-offs. That isn’t to say that said races receive the bare minimum of characterization. Nintendo definitely scatters tidbits of intrigue regarding these races throughout their respective games — enough for theorists, fan-fiction authors, and roleplayers to work with, at any rate. Admittedly, there’s something to be said about leaving details…

Gerudo & Twili Race Theory

September 20 2015 by Ethan Hunt

Here is an interesting theory that will interest you if you are a fan of the Gerudo race! YouTuber GameOverJesse has created another theory video, attempting to explain the Gerudo’s absence from the Child timeline and also their connection to the Twili from Twilight Princess!   Make the jump to check out the video!

As the first in the timeline, Skyward Sword introduced a number of races and sacred figures that we see reappear throughout the series and explained the everlasting conflict surrounding the bearers of the Triforce. One race the game doesn’t explicitly reference, though, is the Gerudo. But Zelda Theorist, GameOver Jesse recently published a video showing evidence that Groose is actually the first Gerudo, and that Ganondorf is his direct descendant. Aside from visual clues and similar personality traits, GameOver Jesse…

In the E3 Trailer for Zelda Wii U the gauntlets Link wears are similar in design to the Gerudo armour worn by Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time, hinting that the Gerudo race may play a part in the upcoming title or that the game may be relatively close to Ocarina of Time in the Legend of Zelda Timeline. Ganondorf is the most recurring main villain in the console series and by far the most memorable to long time players of…

Howdy, and welcome to the next segment of my weekly Timeshift Thursday feature! Most long-time Zelda fans usually have childhood memories either remembering the original NES self-titled adventure or Ocarina of Time as their first played game in the critically-acclaimed series. I fall under the latter category as my Ice Blue N64 regularly loaded up that special limited edition gold cartridge delivering the entertainment and fun I had drifting away form the real world into the land of Hyrule. Sometimes,…

The land of Hyrule has always been a very diverse realm with a large variety of peoples and monsters living throughout. A very common aspect of the Zelda series is there being a clear distinction between a friendly NPCs that will talk to Link and cannot be attacked, and unfriendly enemy NPCs, which almost never speak and only exist as opponents to be defeated. This does not account for everyone, as there are the occasional exceptions on both sides. Nonetheless,…

Well hey there guys! Might be a day late, but it’s the usual day for the mailbag, so I’ve brought you a Halloween-themed mailbag for today! I feel like something strange is about to happen though… Well, anyway, this mailbag has 16 questions, about a bunch of spooky and or villain-related topics in the Zelda series. I also talk about Majora’s Mask a fair bit. Sorry if it’s a bit long, guys. Anyway, enjoy! You can watch the video here…

Omo-Cat has recently posted a new comic in which Link ponders life. He ponders a rather good question that may or may not have plagued many of us during our first play through of Ocarina of Time. Link’s reaction is pretty priceless, I love his facial expressions. This comic is super funny, so be sure to check it out by making the jump!
