Daily Debate: Which Zelda Game is the Most Replayable?
Posted on February 19 2023 by Chakell Herbert
So far this year, I have been on a mission to replay all the Zelda games to prepare myself for Tears of the Kingdom. As I just finished A Link to the Past after getting hooked on it for a few weeks, I’ve been thinking about what Zelda games are the most replayable.
For me, I often find myself reaching most for Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, The Minish Cap, Breath of the Wild, and Skyward Sword. Although I replay most of the games in the series, these ones just have a certain storytelling charm that always keeps me coming back for more.
The ability to play in two different time periods and seeing Hyrule transform from a world of wonder to a world of monsters after 7 years under Ganondorf’s rule always captivates me in Ocarina of Time. Watching the Hero of Winds grow through the The Wind Waker and traversing the Great Sea makes for a fantastic time spent gaming. The Minish Cap is just downright fun to play with its shrinking mechanic and solid dungeons for a 2D Zelda. And, of course, Breath of the Wild is the Zelda that keeps on giving. With more and more things to explore, coupled with piecing the melancholy story together, it never fails to bring me joy. Skyward Sword’s storytelling is unmatched and it stands as the story that connects all the others, explaining the curse of Demise to the origins of the Master Sword. Truly in my opinion, all Zelda games are replayable in their own right, because all of them stand the test of time! One can only assume Tears of the Kingdom will be 100% replayable as well!
What about you? What Zelda games do you find yourself replaying the most? What do you plan on replaying before Tears of the Kingdom? Let me know in the comments!
