Throughout the Legend of Zelda series, we’ve seen our protagonist rise to heroism after first occupying (or apprenticing for) several different professions. In A Link to the Past, Link lives with his uncle, who is not clearly identified as belonging to one profession or another, though we can infer that he is a veteran soldier (given his ownership of both sword and shield). In the manga, he and Link are shown to be apple farmers. Given their proximity to the…

Get your headphones in, because this week, we’re taking a musical journey throughout the history of the Zelda series to rank and discuss every games main theme! We go back and find what works, what doesn’t, which games were short-changed, and which themes we would consider the best of all time. We’re playing every theme in the series, so sit back and groove out to the amazing music of the series. Don’t forget to let us know which main theme…

Musician Aaron Grubb has released his third album featuring a collection of Zelda songs. In response to requests for a physical release of the music, Grubb said he’s considering a “double-disc CD collection featuring all songs.” He did note however that he may need to “crowdfund the…

Aaron Grubb has released his third Zelda-cover single in preparation for his upcoming album release in January. His latest track is a performance of “Full Steam Ahead” from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Last month, Grubb released a cover of “Tatl and Tael Theme”  from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Another spin around the sun has come and went, and with it, the latest installment of Zelda Dungeon’s proudest yearly tradition: Best. Zelda. Ever! 2022 marked the first year in quite some time where we had no real Zelda activity. No new games were released, no new projects were announced, it was… quiet. Although we got a title for the long-awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild, 2022 seemed like a year that could best be described as the calm…

Stealth quests are some of my favorite elements of gameplay in any videogame.  I just love the suspense as I creep sneakily through an enemy’s hold, plundering their valuables before I reach my destination.  And if I’m caught?  Well, then it’s just as fun to deal with the consequences!  Games like Skyrim really hit that sweet, sneaky spot for me, and I’d love to see The Legend of Zelda do more of the same. Zelda games have incorporated some of…

Happy Monday Zelda Cast fam! We’ve got a doozy of a show this week, as we go nearly ninety minutes discussing collectathon items and assigning them a grade! Everything from Secret Seashells to Golden Skulltullas to Ship Parts to Tri Force Heroes Outfits to, of course, Koroks are on the table, and we’re getting digging in deep to find out what makes a good collectathon. Does multiple rewards make it more rewarding? How does the story of the quest factor…

I know we all love The Legend of Zelda and many of the games that followed. It’s why we are here in the first place. But, I think it is safe to say that many of us have at least one that we just…didn’t like. It wasn’t our cup of tea, or there was some character or scene or mechanic that was an absolute game breaker for us. So my question today is, how would you change that game to make…

We are officially in the home stretch of Linktober! Just a small note, there will be another post next Saturday, and then a smaller post on November 1st to wrap up the rest of the month’s challenge. That being said, you still have time to join the fun and create with the Zelda community! If you want the chance at being featured be sure to use the hashtag #artistsoflegend on Instagram and Twitter! Now with that taken care of let’s check…

There’s nothing like the soundtrack of a Zelda game to hurl you back into the memories of the gameplay experience. Whether you are the thrust back into the Lost Woods, thrown up into the skies surrounding Skyloft, or splashed into the Great Sea, every Zelda game is filled with music that perfectly accompanies the setting. ZeldaEastWest, a content creator on YouTube, has a plethora of re-orchestrated Zelda songs. I personally love the eeriness of their version of “Submerged Kingdom” from…
