Despite the development team’s best efforts, there is sure a lot of Tears of the Kingdom that calls back to the opening…

Ten years ago, Nintendo started selling amiibo. These collectible statuettes of Nintendo characters from a wide variety of games don’t just sit on the shelf.  Scanning the amiibo with the NFC reader on the Wii U, 3DS, or Switch will result in extra goodies in the game.  Nintendo made the Smash Bros. series of amiibo first and featured Twilight Princess style Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, along with Toon Link, Young Link, and Sheik. Since then, Nintendo has made 20 other Zelda-based…

Since May 12th, I have been glued to my television screen playing Tears of the Kingdom practically non-stop. I am in complete awe of this game — it’s scope is beyond anything I ever dreamed of, as The Sky and The Depths add more new content than I thought they would. Even The Surface, with its caves, wells, and the ramifications of the falling Sky islands and the newly formed Chasms have transformed the landscape we are so familiar with,…

Now that Tears of the Kingdom has been out in the wild nearly two weeks, many of us have probably played the game quite a bit, at least enough to formulate an impression on the game’s approach to both gameplay and narrative. Our very own YouTube team, consisting of our friends Gooey, Corey, Nico, and McKenna, recently sat down to go in depth on their early thoughts on the game. I was actually quite surprised with how much they covered,…

Spoiler Warning: The article below contains minor spoilers for some returning and new enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If you’re like me you’ve probably explored a good chunk of Hyrule ,above and below, over the last handful of days. In previous footage we got a brief glimpse of how some of the returning enemies have changes in appearances, but what about the new enemies? We caught a glimpse of a flaming Gleeok and a Boss…

The Plucky Squire, one of the most promising Zelda-like adventures due out this year, was featured during yesterday’s PlayStation Showcase in the form of a new gameplay trailer. The brief teaser, since uploaded to publisher Devolver Digital’s YouTube channel, introduces us to the game’s assorted heroes and villains, as well as the storybook-inspired world these characters inhabit. Most importantly, however, the trailer demonstrates The Plucky Squire‘s unique blend of 2D and 3D gameplay, as players will be able to escape…

It is possible the comment section could contain spoilers in both pictures and words. Please click at your own risk. For as groundbreaking as Breath of the Wild was for open-world games, there were a few aspects of its design that – even by 2017’s standards — felt uncharacteristically run-of-the-mill. Specifically, in subsequent playthroughs of the game,…

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been out for a couple weeks now, and players are discovering many of the game’s surprises. But there’s at least one unforeseen change that has left some players a little frustrated. The Wolf Link amiibo no longer grants players access to the legendary canine companion. Instead, it merely offers a collection of meat, which we can assume was “hunted” by our wolf friend…I think. True, the nature of gameplay in Tears of the…

When one decides to work in journalism, there is often an unspoken commitment that one should be dedicated to reporting the truth of any given situation. The modern age of the internet has made reaching the truth of a situation all the more difficult however. Within that difficulty, there are quite a number of reporters who have sacrificed that commitment in the name of creating more and more sensational headlines from unclear situations. The realm of Zelda news is in…

Vancouver-based gaming developer Brace Yourself Games has confirmed that their company has laid off a portion of its employees. The gaming company became popular in 2015 with the release of Crypt of the NecroDancer, and they later developed the popular rhythm game based upon The Legend of Zelda, Cadence of Hyrule, that released Summer of 2019. The layoffs were initially reported by Game Developer, which cited tweets by a former employee that the layoffs effected half of the company’s workforce….
