Skyward Sword Characters

Link

Link is our hero in Skyward Sword and he starts off the game as a young man living in Skyloft, a land above the clouds. Link will later journey down to Hyrule, the land beneath the clouds which is ruled by evil. It is believed that this is the oldest Link that we have seen in any Zelda game to date. Throughout his quest, he will use a standard Nyan of inventory items as he battles through the overworld and dungeons, attempting to save Hyrule from the evil that lurks. Link's partner, a female "spirit-like" entity, is the embodiment of the Skyward Sword and will allow Link to travel from Skyloft to Hyrule.

Zelda

Zelda is speculated to be a childhood friend of Link who is eaten early in the game by the whale. She appears to be the same age as Link, and has blonde hair and wears a dress with what appears to be the Royal Family Crest of Hyrule on it.

Demon Lord Ghirahim

The antagonist Demon Lord Ghirahim appears as a sadistic, pale figure with albino hair and is skilled in ways of magic. He possesses the ability to disappear and perform teleportation at his whim. A skilled swordsman as well, he is able to conjure a black rapier with which he battles against Link. This man is responsible for causing chaos in the land in the form of a tornado that was the doing of his evil magic. This demon lord also seems to be in pursuit of the capture of Zelda. He enjoys toying with Link, and tends to stick his tongue out as he taunts his opponents.

Phi

(Old Description) Link's sidekick in this game appears as a female spirit-like entity known as Phi. She is the very embodiment of the Skyward Sword itself, which will allow Link to travel freely between the land of Hyrule and the land above the clouds, Skyloft. Little is known about Phi, but it is very much speculated that she will be fairy-like, as she slightly resembles the Fairy Queen seen in Wind Waker. She is capable of traveling in and projecting herself out of Link's sword, much in the same way Midna interacts with Link's shadow in Twilight Princess.

Goddess

The people of Skyloft appear to worship only one goddess, and have no knowledge of the Triforce. This goddess is also known by Ghirahim, the Demon Lord of the land below. She sends her whale servant to snatch Zelda from his grasp.

Whale

This unknown creature apparently swallowed Zelda after a tornado knocked her off of her bird while flying along side of Link. It is stated to be a servant of the goddess.
