Skyward Sword Characters

Link

Link is our hero in Skyward Sword and he starts off the game as a young man living in Skyloft, a land above the clouds. Link will later journey down to Hyrule, the land beneath the clouds which is ruled by evil. It is believed that this is the oldest Link that we have seen in any Zelda game to date. Throughout his quest, he will use a standard wide variety of inventory items as he battles through the overworld and dungeons, attempting to save Hyrule from the evil that lurks. Link's partner, a female "spirit-like" entity, is the embodiment of the Skyward Sword and will allow Link to travel from Skyloft to Hyrule.

Demon Lord Ghirahim

The antagonist Demon Lord Ghirahim appears as a pale figure with snow white hair and seems to be skilled in ways of magic. He possesses the ability to disappear and perform teleportation at his whim. A skilled swordsman as well, he is able to conjure a black sword with which he battles against Link. This man is responsible for causing chaos in the land in the form of a tornado that was the doing of his evil magic. This demon lord also seems to be in pursuit of the capture of Zelda.

Phi

(Old Description) Link's sidekick in this game appears as a female spirit-like entity known as Phi. She is the very embodiment of the Skyward Sword itself, which will allow Link to travel freely between the land of Hyrule and the land above the clouds, Skyloft. Little is known about Phi, but it is very much speculated that she will be fairy-like, as she slightly resembles the Fairy Queen seen in Wind Waker. She is capable of traveling in and projecting herself out of Link's sword, much in the same way Midna interacts with Link's shadow in Twilight Princess.

Whale

This unknown creature apparently swallowed Zelda after a whirlwind knocked her off of her bird while flying along side of Link.
